We would like to invite you to provide feedback to us on the SPOTT Natural Rubber indicator framework ahead of the 2024 assessments.

To ensure SPOTT continues to align with best practice reporting standards, we have made three significant changes this year:

    • Two new indicators assessing disclosures of the number (#29) and location (#30) of manufacturing facilities have been added.
    • Indicators relating to GHG emissions have been updated to include absolute emissions targets and reporting, reporting on scope 1 and 2 emissions, and a new indicator (#106) has been added relating to scope 3 emissions for land use change.
    • A new indicator (#178) relating to deforestation and conversion-free (DCF) supply chains has been added.

Please note, this year we are trialling a new system where we will assess but not score new indicators for the first year. This is applicable to indicators #29, 30, 106 and 178.

We have also edited some indicators either in response to previous feedback, or to align better with indicator frameworks for SPOTT Timber & Pulp and Palm Oil.

Please download and review the indicator framework and fill in the ‘Reviewer comments’ column (column V) with any feedback. We appreciate the time it takes to review a framework so if you are limited in capacity the ‘Priority’ indicators that we would specifically like to get your feedback on are listed in column U, but feedback on all indicators is welcome.

Column G contains the new scoring criteria, with updates to text in blue and deleted text in red. Column J summarises the changes to the framework.

Please return the attached Indicator Framework document with your feedback by Thursday 26 October to sam.ginger@zsl.org
